Empowering Youth. Fueling Futures.
Mastermind Youth Foundation’s partnership with Suncor to reduce financial barriers and expand access to transformative STEM programs for youth in Sarnia-Lambton who might otherwise be excluded.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the STEM Access Fund, applicants must demonstrate financial need to ensure that more youth can participate in the transformative STEM programs offered by the Mastermind Youth Foundation.
Who Can Apply
Youth participants and families eager to explore STEM learning opportunities through Mastermind Youth Foundation programs but facing financial barriers to participation.
Priority Considerations
Applicants not currently covered by other local funding programs (such as the County of Lambton YRASP initiative). This ensures the Fund complements existing supports and reaches families who may otherwise be left out.
Applicants from underrepresented communities in STEM, including girls, racialized youth, new comers, youth living with disabilities and Indigenous youth.
What the Fund Covers
Full or partial subsidies for Mastermind Youth Foundation STEM program registration fees.
Annual Funding Limit
To ensure fair access for families, the STEM Access Fund offers subsidy support of up to a maximum of $500 per child each year. This allows each youth participant to receive help with program fees within that amount during a calendar year.
How to Apply
- Complete the online application form.
- Provide proof that you do not qualify for other local funding programs (such as the County of Lambton YRASP initiative)
- Provide a brief statement of interest from the youth participant (why they want to join STEM programming).
- Share basic household information to confirm financial need (no detailed financial disclosure required—just enough to ensure fair distribution of funds).
