The Shores 3×3 Basketball is a youth basketball program that provides competitive opportunities to exceptional basketball players in Lambton County and in the rural community of Lambton Shores. The Shores 3×3 Basketball teams are provided training in 3 on 3 basketball and opportunities to travel to OBA 3×3 basketball tournaments and other 3×3 events across Ontario and other parts of North America.

The Shores Basketball players are each registered with FIBA 3×3 and are given opportunities to play recreationally and individually work to build and rank their FIBA 3×3 player profiles with the hopes to one day play in the pro divisions. The program additionally offers specialized training around the business of the sport i.e., sport management and leadership.

The History of 3×3 basketball!

FIBA 3×3 (pronounced “three-ex-three”) is a newly recognized global sport and was officially introduced to the Olympics in 2020 and has since exponentially grown its fan and player base around the world with its first explosion in European countries and is now expanding in popularity rapidly in the Americas. In the 2nd Summer Olympics held in Paris in 2024, Canada participated in the Women’s 3×3 basketball division.

What does the registration fee cover?

Training in the game of 3×3, and a minimum of one 75min practice per week from May to mid-August. There may be opportunities for more practice time as the season develops.

Where are practices held?

Practices in July and August are held at The Shore Recreational Centre in Forest Ontario. Practice locations vary in May and June. See Calendar.

What divisions can I register to?

U12, U14, U16 for both male and female players. Availability is dependent on the number of players who register.

What does the schedule look like?

Where are tournaments held?

Tournaments are organize seasonally by 3rd party tournament organizers. Tournaments are held across Ontario (ex: Fergus, Niagara, Whitby, Kingston, Toronto, Waterloo, etc.) and Michigan, and other provinces. One of the tournaments is held close to home in Sarnia Ontario.

Does the registration fee cover the cost of tournaments?

Depending on the amount fundraised through grants, donations and sponsorships, tournament fees may be subsidized.
